super dark, almost inky wine, but now with garnet highlights around edges. Nose has prunes and hint of breakfast tea. There is some dried fruit as the ripe fruit gives way. Still currant and perhaps cherry, mixed with chocolate. Very much cab-like in its flavor profile and structure. Still an impressive amount of tannin and almost astringent acidity. Not quite the wine it once was, but acidity gives such freshness and nobility, despite the fruit passing into a shadow of its former self. This is our last bottle of this wine and indeed the last bottle of Jeff Cohn from the Hayne Vineyard. Its like saying good bye to an old friend.

Dark purple wine, slight edges. Nose is heat and Blackberry, with perhaps some black licorice. Mouthfeel is much smoother. Currant, Tea leaves, mocha, dark cherry. Not quite the fruit and acidity it once had, but still rich and tasty. On the downslope, but still good. Wouldn't wait much longer to drink it up.

Very impressive, Zin. Consistent with past notes, not quite the acidity and zing of prior vintages, but amazing depth. Dark fruit, mocha, toast, all well integrated. Opened up very nicely over a few hours after pop and pour. Drinking very well.

This is an outstanding wine. Not the best example of Hayne vineyard zinfandel or even the best vintage of the Cohn offering. But this is really a well structured, firm, and fruity wine. We got 7 bottles on a sale last year and can't wait to drink the rest of them. Dark fruit, firm tannins, smooth mouthful, and acidity balance out this wine nicely.

Wonderful, reasonably balanced Zinfandel. Not overripe, delineated, with good acid and tannin to keep it all in check. Almost refreshing.
