- Crimsom color with medium forming legs and aromas of raisin and blackberry. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of cloves, cherry and fig with a medium body. Polished texture with a medium finish.

Last note was far too harsh. It's a $12 cab-merlot blend (with cab the dominant varietal). You can't expect a $50-100 wine. And the cherries are certainly present, but not the only flavor. Anyway, it's an easy drinking, $12 red wine that you can enjoy without food or a dish that doesn't require...well...a $50-100 cab.
Upon opening: cherries. How many cherries? All of them. Every cherry there is. 2-3 hours later, it's calmed down a bit. Hard to know how to describe its complexity unless I'm grading on a curve. I tend not to drink $12 cabernet, but my local emporium suggested it drinks better than that. I found it a little lively and fruity still, but not cloying or sweet. If you brought this to a party, it wouldn't be a shame if you ended up having to drink it, too. I suspect it would be a good choice for bbq or burgers.
