Holy cow. If there were such a thing, this would be a 2002 Myriad Napa Valley. The flavor profile is very similar. Still young but definitely in its window. Went LEGENDARILY with NY steaks.

Forgotten bottle that was a delightful surprise. A flavorful Sonoma cab with few tannins that is long in the tongue with spice and a touch of floral. Again it was an enjoyable bottle of wine that is a credit to the grower and winemaker in what is considered a off year by most.

Really in the zone right now. Fresh, full, with tang and cut, depth and purity. Consistent with prior bottles, this shows solid structure, and cool red and blue fruits typical of higher-elevation/mountain fruit; rich soil and creamy/resolved oak notes. Full-bodied, but in a classical sense, not a jammy, extracted one; ripe, sweet tannins, med+ finish. 14,2% abv., drink thru 2021. recommended
Decanted for sediment (fair amount), and returned to bottle; served non-blind 3 hours later. Held since release.

PnP. Dark ruby core, little sign of age. Purchased on release, this opens more like a Napa valley-floor offering, with high-toned cherry and a touch of heat dominating. A few minutes in the glass and there's a citrus tone, along with cedar closet that moves to the fore. This is unmistakably complex. The palate is rich, open-knit, ripe but with good focus. This is reminding me of older, pedigreed Stag's Leap fruit, very nice. The slightest of hollow spots on the mid-palate keeps this from the score category of A-, or better. A bitter twist at the end ushers in generous, round tannins with a delicious extended finish. Top notch New World Cab. 14,2% abv, definitely at peak, but with another 5-7 yet ahead. Nothing like the 03 or 04, this is in a league by itself, wowser. score: B+/A-
(note: this added weight over the first few glasses, nothing flabby about it though. Pair this with robust food - braised meats, heavy spice/garlic/herb, complex stuff. If you serve a mildly complex dish, this wine will bury it).

Not the revelation that the last bottle was but still mighty tasty for the price.
