Apparently winemaker trained in France and this wine reflects that and the grape variety but in a clean New World style. The red fruit is perfectly judged. The palate is medium weight but that's Merlot in this style. The tannins are gentle and there is some racy acidity to carry the flavours to good length with lingering red plum flavours to enjoy. There is enough overall density to enjoy with lots of types of food but try with duck, pork and veal dishes.

Decent merlot. I'm not a huge merlot fan but I do drink it occasionally. This was lacking depth and balance for me. Still nicely fruit forward but the depth and lack of finish is what added up to the 88.

Rich, slightly minty nose; smooth, nice rounded texture. Rich and flavoursome.
