An inky dark red in colour, the nose has benefited from a few years in the bottle with meaty plum and understated wood spices.
The wine is medium to full bodied with lashings of plum contrasted against ripe tannins with a more savoury core, vanillin oak and dark chocolate add richness but don't diminish the wines purity of fruit; instead they provide a counterpoint to the wines dense and concentrated dark fruits. There is very good length to finish.
A good value representation of all that is good about McLaren Vale Shiraz. Review Link - www.winereviewer.com.au (drink from 2014-2027)
