OK for a 2011 but the impact of the off vintage is apparent. Deep indigo in color. A bit of a moss and creosote on the nose. Blackberry, blueberry, tar and herbal notes on the palate. Full bodied with a medium finish.

Consumed over three nights with little to no change. I think it is drinking well right now, not the fruit forward my wife asked me to open but very satisfying, especially to me.

probably too young. First night was green and herbal on the palate with tight nose. Fleshed out some on 2nd day but still lean. Still not a lot on the nose - herbs, whiff of vanilla, menthol. Menthol, flint, slightly bitter acidity, minerality on the finish. Better with food than sipping alone. Tart muted red fruit.

Redolent of crushed raspberries, kirsch, and rhubarb, this evocative wine delights with hints of violets and cedar. Brimming with minerality resonant of its vineyard origins, this wine’s notes of loam and gravel complement the powdered chocolate tannins that create a luxurious and lengthy mouthfeel.
