Spicy "developing" white at a perfect drinkability age - some darkening in gold color, nutty notes with a touch of high-toned petrol, nice intense ripe fruit.

Others have recently posted their problems with corked bottles. Ironically I had a corked Chassagne from this producer two nights ago, but this St Aubon exhibited no obvious flaws. It lacked the taut acidity of great St Aubin 1ers but presented broad Chardonnay flavor and round, even rich texture. Not elegant but decent wine for the relatively low price.

Previous bottle was corked but this one was fine. Fairly typical St Aubin, but good value.
