This 2004 Gran Reserva is really reaching its peak. Needed an hour in decanter to open up, rewards with rich cooked fruits, toasted oak, vanilla, long smooth finish with hints of coffee and chocolate.

Decanted for an hour, fruit flavours tending towards dried and stewed, tobacco, leather and chocolate on a long finish. Still holding up, great on its own or complemented side of cheese.

Medium garnet. Light on the nose, with tobacco, cedar, red currant and cranberry. Medium + on tannin and acidity Red currant and cranberry, but can really get the bottle age on this, with leather, game, tobacco slightly vegetal on the finish. Well balanced with the flavours against the tannin and acidity. Needs to decant for an hour or two Drinking well now, some time left on this.

Slightly past its best, but still very drinkable. Blackberry and plum, hint of charcoal, leather, but finish is no longer very polished
