I had slightly lowered expectations for this wine based on the last bottle from June 2019, but the wine had a great showing over the last few days, seeming slightly fresher and more complex, but mostly just delicious. The red fruits (sour cherry candy) were beautiful tinged with a slight hint of blue on the finish. (I find that my personal preference leans more to red fruit vs. black/blue in my barbera, so this really clicked for me vs. darker barberas.) As before, the oak was fully and beautifully integrated. You'd likely not know how much was there in its youth. If scoring, 91-92pts on sheer enjoyment.
It was a nice pairing with both lasagna (on days 1-2) and with simple roasted chicken on day 3.
Incidentally, my first bottle was purchased directly from the winery in Italy and hauled back in my suitcase. This one came via purchase in the Pacific Northwest of the USA.

Nice Barbera, though not as good as I recall it back when visiting the winery in 2014. Perhaps I just like it better younger. The French oak on this was fine and nicely integrated, but some of the magic I recall was gone. 90-91 from this Barbera fan.

Good quality Barbera. Sour cherries and earthy on the palate. Lighter that in 2016. Hard to see this improving any more.

Great value. As complex and balanced as some barbaresco. Paired well with beef ragu, paperdelle and Parmesan
