  • Bright, crystalline whitish-green color. Fresh, youthful and quite intense nose with bright aromas of ripe apple-driven white fruits, steely minerality, some stony minerality and a hint of sweet white peach. The wine is light-to-medium bodied and enjoyably racy on the palate with intense flavors of tart Granny Smith apples, ripe red apples, some stony minerality, a little bit of tangy lemony fruit, light steely character, a hint of chalky bitterness and a touch of crushed oyster shell. The bracing acidity lends wonderful intensity and sense of structure to the wine. The palate-cleansing finish is quite long, intense and racy with bright flavors of tart green apples, some slightly bitter herbal elements, light steely minerality, a hint of sweet white peach and a touch of flint smoke.

A terrific and wonderfully structured entry-level Chablis with textbook acid structure and cool mineral core. Not big on complexity, but you really don't expect such from these basic-level Chablis wines - Cru Chablis wines are for those purposes. This is a terrific food wine that's also wonderfully refreshing - albeit somewhat lean - on its own. Sophisticated stuff from this reliable co-op, priced according to its quality at 16,99€.

  • Medium straw yellow colour. Green apples, citrus and white flowers on the nose. Taste of citrus and sweet green apples with hints of herbs and white flowers. Young and fruity wine, a good BiB alone or with shellfish.
