Nose - closed, some blue and darker berries and spice tempered with oak overlay Palate - lots of sediment, lots of blue and a hint of dark fruits (plums) and spice again, touch of leather, good tannic structure, finishes a bit tart and metallic. Summary - decent enough example of inexpensive Bdx.

Medium depth purple robe with clearing purple meniscus. Fresh bouquet of ripe, purple fruits such as bilberries, damsons plus a hint of violets. On the palate the fresh young purple fruit flavours dominate together with well balance acidity and minimal tannin. This is apparently merlot based and this shows up well in the upfront fruitiness. My only gripe is the price of £10.00 at Virgin when the same wine can be found at the Wine Soc for £6.75
