  • Dark red, almost black; lots of ripe mulberries in the nose, silky, smooth soft attack followed up by nice acidity and a slight harshness, a well-made full-bodied wine leaving an overall impression of chocolate-type power wien rather than a more subtle wine with finesse; clearly good for its occassion - I like it

  • This difficult to source wine from the Lirac region of the southern Rhone is rich, unctuous, and quite forward at this young age. I regret opening this as I would have loved to experience the development of this wine over 7-10 years.

Explosive aromas of blackberry paste, wintergreen, black/red licorice, and dark raspberry. This really coats the palate like very few wines I have experienced in this $ range. One third each of Syrah, Mourvedre, and Grenache. Rich dark fruits abound. Tannin still integrating but refined nonetheless.

I would have scored slightly higher if the wine exhibited more acidity, balance, and structure. Make no mistake; this is a full bore onslaught of pristine fruit consistent with the hedonistic CDP profile. Very enjoyable with a char broiled Delmonico steak and scalloped potatoes. I just believe my palate is moving away from these powerful and saturated wines at this point in time.

  • Full bodied, luscious, powerful, rich, ripe, and dense, the tastes like a barrel sample. The wine is incredibly concentrated and palate staining. This is no shy wallflower. Alcoholic, but there is so much fruit, you do not even notice it. Give it a few hours in the decanter.

  • Dark purple red; very intense nose, dark red fruit, mulberry, some pepper; requires air! - after decant: smooth, velvety attack, dark and masculine, powerful, light underlying tannins keeping it all together very well, concentrated sweet aftertaste; clearly very young (too young) - boding well for the future

92-93 pts
