This had plum, ripe jammy cherry and blackberry pie; cherry kirsch; this is just a little too gooey and hot and jammy for my taste. Very new world, very extracted and over ripe. The antithesis of "Old School Cab". Maybe 89 or 90 if you like this style.

I love this wine and have since we first tasted it on release at Hoffman Lane. It's pretty much lost the eucalyptus, which made it so unique, on the nose but is surprisingly fruity for its age. Very dark color and jammy would be a good description, but all who tasted loved it. Great with ribs. Also enjoyed 1999 D'Arenberg Ironstone Pressings for some wonderful contrast

This was decidedly modern and forward, over extracted, and overly ripe with a touch of RS. even at 9 years it's jammy, sort of a plum-apricot marmalade sweetness with a heady cough syrup aspect. Chewy, rich, and made to appeal to those who like this style. But even the fruit was not pure and felt a bit strangely un-cab like. This wine has some issues and needs to seek help.
