This wine opens up as it sits and warms. It was liked by everyone in the club. Good acid, apple / pear scents with tastes of strawberries. Still nice the second day. Good food wine and also an aperitif or party wine. Low alcohol

At first I wondered why I had liked a previous bottle--it is far too acidic. Then I looked at my previous note, and saw that the acid was more in balance on the second evening. I recorked it and refrigerated it and drank it on two more evenings where it was again more in balance. I got ginger, lime and other citrus notes and found it a decent pairing with Dubliner cheese and smoked Gouda cheese. I would give it about three points higher the second or third evening than the frst evening.

I really enjoyed this wine. We had it with shrimp risotto - great pairing - and, it was still good when I finished the bottle last night. Lemon flavor, more like Meyer than bitter lemon. I taste the minerality more than the citrus and after a couple days the salinity was very evident. I like it. Etienne Daulny makes a fine Sancerre.

Still not coming around. Unsure whether 2013 may be an off vintage or simply needs more time (Clos de Chaudenay is a notoriously slow opener). Many more bottles on hand, so rating reserved.

Labeled as 12.5% alcohol by volume. Mid-gold color with clarity. It presents the first evening as a bit too acidic, with citrus notes on the nose and palate. Exhibits purity of fruit. I like it better the second evening when the acid seems more in balance and I am made aware of some salinity and a strong mineral note--rocks and/or steel. I paired it with battered fried fish and another evening with pork egg rolls. It is also suitable for shellfish or other fish as well as chicken or pork dishes. Vegetarians might consider pairing it with asparagus or zucchini dishes. I'm keeping two more bottles back for a church fundraiser in late August. On the first evening I would have given this wine 87 or 88 points but on the second evening I would have upped that to 89 or 90 points
