  • Medium-bodied, fruity, brisk acidity and lots of dark berries. This one was clearly a bit young. Hour or so in a decanter really made the difference and the wine opened up; nose is really nice in this price category. Tannins are still hard and the wine would benefit some time in cellar.

  • From a half bottle. Rather pleasant nose of vibrant red toned fruit/berries. Light to medium bodied, very supple and smooth, nice crunchy red fruit with a hint of cinnamon. Palate was backed up by firm, smooth tannins and decent acidity. What a great quaffer. Excellent QPR indeed.

  • Intense cherry to boysenberry nose with some licorice and florals.
Medium to full bodied fruity palate with considerable richness, some tannic grip and balanced mid-level acidity. Licorice, cinnamon, bark and florals. Good length.
No residual sugar. Good intensity and purity of fruit.A good buy in Alko.

  • Very deep, almost fully opaque black cherry color with a subtle purple hue. Vibrant and very fruit-forward nose with ripe aromas of figs, plums and black cherries, some crunchy dark berries, a little bit of perfumed floral character and a hint of savory, dark-toned woody spice. The wine is is full-bodied, ripe and juicy with moderately pronounced spicy bitterness, rich flavors of ripe plums, figs and blackberries along with crunchier dark berries, some liquorice and a hint of floral violet tones. The wine is balanced with its medium-to-moderate acidity and gentle but sufficiently firm tannic grip. The finish is more bitter and spicy than the midpalate with somewhat warm and quite lengthy aftertaste of ripe dark fruits, some crunchy dark berries and a hint of tart lingonberries.

A very nice, pure and balanced Dão red combining effortlessly obvious ripeness with nice bitterness and crunchier qualities. The wine doesn't come across as particularly light or delicate, yet it shows great freshness and sophistication. An enjoyable effort and good value at 6,48€ for a half bottle. Nice!
