Apparently I'm not tasting what others are. This came off as if made from powdered wine mix with processed sugar added. At near the same price, there are MUCH better domestic Cabs, particularly from 2012 - for instance: Textbook, Educated Guess, or Hardin. This struck me as just like Apothecary - cheap, sweet, and one dimensional. I don't know where this came from, but I do know I won't be seeking out any more.

First bottle from this vineyard. Lots of potential--dry and fruity with some herbs bouncing around. Just a touch of chalk and astringency in the mid keeps it from being a great bargain.

Nose: cherry cola, oregano, black pepper, toasted almond, green cedar wood. Very fresh woodsy nose. Taste: Dry, medium-light bodied. Fruit-forward profile with notes of blackberry, pomegranate, and dried cherries. Good length on the finish, with soft ripe blackberry sweetness and very soft tannins. Midpalate has some herbal notes of marjoram and fresh hay, lending interesting savoriness. Nicely crafted. 88.

nose: nutty, almond paste, almond milk, strawberry, and a dusty scent. A little plum and a little forest. taste: nice fruity cab. Fruit cake like, golden raisin, dry apricot, pomegranate, and cherry gummy. Dry and medium body. Candy, tic tac, and some green in it. A bit of fig and vanilla wafer. It is a very easy drinking, and approachable cab that will please the generic public. A good summer cab. Well balanced and it has nice layers.

One of my favorite every-day wines! Reasonable price for a bold wine.
