Really opened up on day 2. Ruby color all the way to the edge. Cherry, violets, and hint of vanilla on the nose. Cherry and tobacco notes on the palate with long and acidic finish. Medium tannins, so could still go a few more years in cellar. But very enjoyable now (especially after some air).

Very pleased with this, especially since purchased for $38. Started very tight. Began to open with an hour of decanting. Dark coral in the glass. Dry, creamy black cherry. Not to damn with faint praise, but is like a refined malt duck, for those who suffered that in high school.

Solid but not particularly engaging. Black fruits, relatively short length, didn’t evolve much with more time in the glass (after 2 hours in a decanter)

Needed two hours of air, then quite good. Right on the ruby/garnet line, clear and clean. Plum and ammonia on the nose. Palate leans red, sour cherry, camphor, cedar. Silty tannins, finish runs hot but goes on for minutes. Maybe not an all time stunner, but a good showing, especially paired with hearty food.

Cherry and tobacco with some secondary floral notes. Needs about an hour of air.
