This is a delicious and distinctive wine. It offers complex flavors including sweet, golden raisins, lime, and peanuts. It is a superb value that is virtually indestructible.

For me, this was one of the most instantly appealing of the Rare Wine Co. madeira offerings. It's far lighter in color (golden) than any other madeira I've had. Although the color is suggestive, the flavor reminds me of golden raisins and oranges (along with peanutty oxidation). There is excellent breadth to the fruit; this is a wine to contemplate and savor.

This is really lovely and delicious. I have had the New York Malmsey before and while it was good I didn't love it, but this is stellar. The nose is beautiful with toffee, dates, clove, dried orange peel, dried flowers, and fig. The palate is delicious with lighter body than the New York, but overall more balance and elegance. Really a beautiful wine that I look forward to enjoying more of.

I like most of the RWC/Barbeito bottlings, but this one was light and very one dimensional. I used it for some madeira sauces and drank it over a couple of weeks, but this never met expectations. I would pass on this one. The NY Malmsey is a better alternative.

Pop and pour. Very good, in a light lacy style. Floral, citric and honeyed with bright acids. Not a heavily torrefacted wine, but light and racy. Not a lot of length, but very well made and reasonably priced.
