  • Mish Mash of wines (My house): Very powerful nose that did not resemble pinot, more like a Gigondas with some cab franc. The nose evolved all night but it was always compelling and very interesting. The wine is well made and a thrill to drink even though I would probably get bored of this after 6 bottles or so. My first australiuan pinot and was very impressed.

  • an easy sunday afternoon in the great white north (gurnee IL, jordan's house): this was presented blind to me

nose: very interesting and shifting nose. At first there are some smoked game tones to where I thought this may be an aged chateauneuf but some rusted iron tones started to come through for a quick second to where it almost seemed like an aged st emilion. Once it was revealed and I put it in the right glass, more pinot noir characteristics came through with black and red cherries, herbs, bits of spices, and more smoked game tones. The more it sat in the glass, the more pronounced the black and red cherries became while the game started to go away a bit. At this point it was a very interesting nose

taste: great feel with pure flavors of raspberry, black cherries, red cherries, bits of cranberry sauce, and spice tones. Very velvety and focused with the flavors

overall: a real delight and surprise. Very nice natural and tart acidity gives this some backbone with a great velvety feel. Very smooth and seamless attack of raspberry with a pleasurable mid palate of black cherry finishing off with some spice and cranberry sauce. Once the more pinot noir characteristics came through, I would've guessed it to be more of a traditional oregon style pinot noir. A very interesting wine right now that I will be on the lookout for

  • A very sumptuous, velvety pinot.

  • Shows slightly more stalk and earth than the 10X Pinot, also has notes of sour cherry as well as some oak that comes in over the top. Palate has good structure and length, but the oak needs to back off and let the other characters come to the fore in the next 3 to 4 years for this to reach its potential.
