Definitely a richer, bigger style of barbera. Overall good, but deeper and richer than anticipated. The nose has dark fruits, leather, smoke, spice, hints of wood, and mushroom. The palate is darker and bigger than most barberas with more robust tannins, but still decent balance. This is enjoyable, but doesn't seem totally typical to me for a barbera given the darker fruit and tannin.

Sweetly fruited with a gloss of new oak. Maybe not classic Barbera but juicy and delicious.

Somewhat modern as evidenced by the deep color, but the oak really only provides framing for lovely juicy dark fruit. Totally enjoyed for $25.
