Bought this today because I was at Trader Joes and decided, based on CT reviews, that it was worth a shot. At $13, it wasn't terrible, but I've had better Merlots for less money. The nose had a bit of oak, not sure if it was barrel oak or oak chips, but the worst part of the nose was that it had a bit of a chemical smell. Not quite chlorine, but it reminded me a bit of it. After that, on the palate, this wine was pretty good. Leather, plum, blackberry and spices. Paired well with Lasagna, but I bet it'd pair well with red meat as well. There was a good dose of acidity, but as my wife proclaimed, there was a lot of alcohol as well. Not a bad effort overall. Once they sort out the nose situation, this wine will be a knockout at the price range.

Cherry up front, with toffee creeping in once the bottle's been open a bit. Well balanced. Incredible minerality on the finish that occasionally tates the slightest bit bitter - a minor flaw that's easily overshadowed by the wine's better characteristics.

This is another phenomenal value. A delicious Merlot at a friendly price. Delicate bouquet with vanilla and milk chocolate. Raspberry, cherry and vanilla with a nice mouthfeel. A long silky finish. This will hold its own along side some popular, more expensive Merlots in the $50 range. I highly recommend this wine.
