  • 3 hour decant.
Oozing style - deliciously fruity, edgy, with a large dash of yum - nice wine.

  • Very good, heading to outstanding.

Clear, medium, ruby to broad garnet rim with plenty of legs.
Clean medium (+) developing nose, with sweet vanillan american oak, blackberries and blueberries.
Dry, medium acid and ripe, fine-grained tannins. Medium (+) alcohol (14%), and medium bodied, with medium (+) intensity of flavours including vanilla, cherries, blueberries and plum. Long length.
Can drink now, but will probably improve with age, there is plenty of development left, but am worried about whether the acid will be there to support it.

The is a very good wine, knocking on outstanding. At 9 years of age, the oak still stands out, particularly on the nose, though it is relatively well integrated on the palate. A real crowd pleaser, with generous fruit and sweet oak flavours, I worry about the long haul, but currently this is undeniably a lovely multi-faceted modern-style Rioja.

  • Served two bottles at Taperia in Singapore. 1st near room temp and 2nd slight cooler, which was better for this wine. Not very noteworthy in the nose but refined and very enjoyable fruit on the palate. Recommended at this price point!

  • Dark ruby. Dusty aromas of vanilla, blackcurrant, cedar. High acid, full bodied, long length, medium plus tannins, medium plus alcohol. A very good wine which is not tiring any time soon.

  • Forget the Decanter 97 score and the DWWA International Best Spanish Red in Show (2014). This Rioja Tempranillo dominate blend is all about the silky smooth palate. And the LONG, long finish.

The nose isn't that forthcoming. But the wine feels quite nimble in the mouth. And has this intensity of ripe fruit flavours that drives hard for that incredibly long finish. As plums, black cherries, coffee, tobacco leaf and black pepper combine seamlessly and lead the charge to a more sweet raspberry, vanilla and pepper finish. Exellente!

Great Rioja for drinking now and until at least 2019. This gets a Wozza 95/100 (4.2/5.0) from me.
