  • Great price for this quality Grenacha. It is really holding up well !!
The cork was perfect after at least 7 years in the bottle. Consumed over two days. This wine started will spicy cherry fruit; as it opened up, this wine showed better balance. On day two, this wine had softened to reveal increased depth, texture, and integrated complexity. Dark red color with no oxidation, and clarity is good. Aromas of black cherry, and vanilla. Flavors of cherry, raspberry, and baking spice with mineral notes of wet slate and gun flint intermixed with black currant, black cherry and cassis. This Grenache has a medium finish. This age worthy wine surpassed my expectations and is not near the end of life yet. A great fruit source from from Calatayud is 100% old-vine Garnacha (from vines planted between 1925 and 1945) made from yields of less than one ton of fruit per acre. Fermented in stainless steel tanks and then transferred to new to 3-year-old French oak casks for 21 months, this outstanding red is the poor man's Priorat. Great value and high quality.

  • Drinking quite well paired with paella. Black plum and fresh pipe tobacco with relatively muted tannins. Drink up now! Great qpr.

  • At the $13 we paid, one of the best values for Grenache from Spain. At 6 years old, aging well with opaque black color without any sigh of brown. Bright red raspberry fruit and smoothly textured. Made exclusively from old vine Grenache.

  • Drinking very well but at the end of the window IMO. Muted dark fruits with soft integrated tannins relatively short finish. Needs about a half an hour in glass.
