  • 92+ Nice gold color. Bouquet of green apple, talc, hint of caramel, a hint of petrol. Bone dry with good acidity. But still there's nice fruit to keep it well balanced. Flavors of tart apple with some petrol along with talc and minerals and slate. Long finish. Drinking well now and it is transitioning into an older stage. Outstanding qpr. Based on the petrol notes if they become more prominent maybe it may be better to drink up sooner rather than later

  • It has been 5 years since my last tasting note. I believe I had this a couple years ago. And it was really showing great at that time. This wine is now in a transition period leaving it s youthful fruit and bracing acidity and transitioning to a more mature Riesling style. Like gold color. Delicious bouquet of honey, caramel, baked apple. Medium bodied with very good concentration and good fruit. The first thing that hits you is good acidity followed by flavors of apple and caramel and honey. Mostly acidic tart apple flavors. Long finish. And still tastes bone dry and goes great with food. Once again can be enjoyed on its own without food. Drink now to 2034, probably longer based on how much acidity there is. Just keep in mind that the acidity will continue to fall and it's going to taste more like a generic old Riesling over time. It could last even longer. Outstanding qpr. This was the second dry Riesling that they made, the first being the 2012

  • This wine is crazy good, many thought it was better than the Nik Weis, and many days later, I enjoyed them side by side, and I would agree, this wine is going to be fun to keep around to taste with the Nik for years to come.
It is another hit for this lovely bone-dry riesling. Ernie has been making them every two years now, starting with the inaugural 2012 vintage.
The nose on this lovely wine has stopped being all about tropical notes and much more about the insane petrol, mineral, and intense saline, with lovely floral notes, that gives way to ripe melon, guava, peach, and apricot. The mouth on this medium plus body wine has a nice almost viscous, with a clearly mouth-filling mouthfeel, that is now showing surprisingly oily in nature, with incredible and piercing acidity, honeyed notes, grapefruit, citrus, along with great tart fruit. The finish is long and refreshing, crisp and intense, with nice mineral, slate, and spice that lingers long, with the honey/petrol/citrus/honeysuckle lingering for almost ever! BRAVO!

  • Nice light gold color. Great balance. Not as crunchy mineral as it was the last time I tasted it. Great dry crisp green apple fruit with lemon, salt, acidity (loads of acid). Bone dry. Great food wine. Can age another 5 years, possibly another 15. Will check up on it regularly. Impressive. Great QPR. A must try
