  • Over the years I have been fairly critical of some of the wines produced by Sticks in the Yarra Valley, however the 2012 No 29 Pinot is a very good wine, it has considerable concentration, but is balanced and composed.

The wine is slightly darker than your typical Pinot, quality oak is immediately evident on the nose, but sitting right behind it is aromatic wild strawberry and sour edged cherry. The palate is medium to full bodied with a generous mouth feel that is broken up by fine tannins and a baking spices that weave in and out.

The length to finish is good, and accentuated by well handled acidity.
