Update from previous review Oct 2017. This is improving. Minerality is somewhat subdued from previous tastings (a good thing imo). Fruit is very good, fragrant nose. Good acidity, grippy tannins and medium-length finish. Throwing a lot of sediment. 4 hour decant, though I shook the heck out of the wine in the decanter to oxigenate. This helped greatly to open it up. Many years left for this wine (good because I still have 7 bottles!). Use Ah-So per weak corks.

Upon opening it starts to show its power -- it is a blockbuster out of the box. Full of cassis and earthy notes on the nose. The flavors are very big -- smoke, dark cherries, menthol, with transitions into intense but very integrated and balanced tannins. Just keeps on going -- a remarkably great cab.

Unmistakeable Gideon Beinstock wine. Dark ruby, cherry and raspberry nose with time in the glass. Gripping acidity. Significant tannins. Takes time to open up and integrate. Once it does (recommend 6 hour decant) it's a flavorful, intense wine best enjoyed with a steak or roast.

See my notes from early 2018. Another great bottle of this wine. Definitely can live longer, though this is my last one. A pleasure to drink.
