  Purchased in Germany in 1993, so the label refers to Staatsweingut Tokaji-Hegyalja rather than to Crown Estates, but I am recording it as such, since this is now the export brand of Tokaji Kereskedöház Zrt., the post-communist era's incarnation of the State Domain. Beautiful warm orange amber, rich but lively; harmonious and subtle nose, off-dry, old apples, Sherry, wax; medium-sweet on the palate, elegant weight, juicy, tangy acidity, crisp and rich at the same time, orange, delicious; persistent finish, excellent length.
