Very strange, but this bottle was so acidic as to be quite undrinkable. I had one glass and poured it away. Other notes suggest something entirely different.

Delicious. Much as s&c wrote and my prior notes, but this bottle just seemed to kick it up a notch in both nose and palate. Wonderful lift in nose, and persistence to palate, though a tad light on acid and weight, made up for it with a delightful finesse in the floral/citrus/chalk synthesis. Freshness abounds, somewhat surprisingly given prior bottle.

Gold tinged yellow. Stony beeswax and citrus on the nose. Salty ripe white orchard fruit in the mouth. Really opened on day 2. I really liked this. Did not seem entirely typical of Montee de Tonnerre in that it did not have the high wire acidty I expect from the vineyard.

Mineral, chalk, and citrus, lemon, hint of lime, light white floral notes. A bit of age showing, perhaps. Moderate body and length, nice, though not an exceptional example of Tonnerre.

Same as last bottle. Gold tinged yellow. Stone, lemon and beeswax on the nose. Ripe apples and salt in the mouth. Again opened more on day 2.
