I really love where the ‘13 village wines in Burgundy are at this time - I’ve had great luck with them, and this wine follows suit in a big way. Hints of baking spice and slate on the nose, dark red fruits, palate is beautifully crunchy with red fruit (strawberry, cranberry, raspberry) and incredibly rewarding. Round and silky on the mouthfeel, it lies beautifully on your palate, finishes with a strong acidic profile that pulls in the cranberry once again. Tremendous

Last note posted is spot on. Very Chambolle. Beautiful cherry fruit. Violets, minerally. If this Villages is this good, I look forward to trying the 1ers!

This was superb, and instantly answered any doubts as to whether it's time to start opening 2013s. One of the most Chambolle (TM) wines I've had the pleasure of trying, it was cashmere in a glass, with creamy strawberry, tart cranberry and hints of exotic scents like cinnamon and rosemary. The finish was a little short, and the acidity was veerry slightly too prominent on the midpalate, but I wish more village Burgs were this good.

Not so impressive at the start - run of the mill pinot. With a little bit of patience, it really opened up and showed at the end! Wish I had a bit more patience...
