  This is actually the 2010. Beautiful, rub red color with some signers of slight browning and age on the edges. Was signing right after opening (screw cap) with classic mature Pinot notes of black cherry, earth, and savory spices. Also quite floral (violets) on the nose with a “Smokey” note that I associate in more mature Pinot that is drinking. On the palate, lovely red fruits and quite balanced. Definitely fruit forward — with cool, pure red notes of cherry, and wild red berries. Certainly new world in style, but with nice fruit purity and balanced oak that takes a back seat to the fruit. The tannins are soft (and distant) but the acidity gives the wine enough structure and balances the ripe fruit. Not as dense on the mid palate as I’d like (a little “watery”) and as the nose might indicate and lacking as much detail as I’d like to bring the score up, but still really really delicious. And drinking beautifully right now. Good length on the finish. This is a wine that will disappear quickly in the glass.
