  drank alongside the Bindi Quartz 2008 ( 97 pts also) the Bass Premium Chardonnay is fantastic. Ive had a love hate relationship with Mr Jones's Chardonnay's. Ive been blown away by some , even the standard estate 2007 is a cracker, but been disappointed with others, 2016 for example appeared over worked, flabby and will not age. 2013 was a slightly lesser year between the brace of 2012-2018 and i think their premium pinot from 2013 is not as good as vintages either side of it ( but is still yummo) . But the chardonnay on the other hand is superb. clearly a tasting step up over the estate and more Burgundian work gone into it. thicker, richer, some oak influence still but lovely ripe melon and peach with the creamy ooze and gentle acid finish. at 8 years i think its in a lovely window but structurally i can see this living a lot longer and I suspect if compared to the pinot big brother from the same vintage in years to come might knock it off on regular occasions. Very fine and worth seeking out. I hope Mr Fourrier adds even more attention to the Bass Phillip Chardonnays when he takes over as they are underrated and often overlooked from this legendary pinot noir maker.

  Absolutely beautiful wine, suffering only because it was tasted immediately after an insanely good Giaconda chardonnay 2011.
  Lots of peach, white flower, and river pebble action, with a hint of honey in the background. Beautifully made.
  Drinking well now, but certainly no hurry.
