2010-2012 Virage vertical with boeuf bourguignon. All wines were decanted for 4 hours and initially served at 58 degrees.
2012 - Dark and full and very, very good. Interestingly, this was the only bottle with noticeable sediment. In my previous note, I thought this would hold at peak for a couple more years. Given how it showed with a 4 hour decant, I now think this could make a great birth year wine, or at least something to check in on over the long haul. Drink now (with long decant) through 2034.
2011 - Missing a bit of bottom end; it needed more Merlot. The long decant was not the right move; my previous bottle was PnP and showed much better. Would pair best with lighter (and lightly spiced) proteins like chicken and loin, as opposed to the hearty tomato-y bourguignon. Drink now through 2027.
2010 - Clean and precise. Drink now through 2030.

On initial PnP, this had strong green notes and was a bit tight. Opened up with a little air. Finished the second half of the bottle two days after opening (stored in the fridge under cork in the interim), and it was all silk and elegance.

Really good. Starts off a bit oaky but that quickly resolves. Still drinking well. Probably not going to improve much over the next few years but also not falling apart.

Initially was going to pop and pour, but after a quick taste, and looking over my past notes on this wine, gave it an hour decant, and the wine benefitted greatly. I think the benefit was more from a few extra degrees of temp than from the additional time. Low 60s F. Lovely nose of dark chocolate, cassis and assertive forest floor. Acidity well-integrated, as was the low alcohol. Slightly velvety wine with a bit of grip. Rich black cherry fruit on the palate, sun-dried tomato, green pepper and anise on the palate. The tomato notes linger on the lengthy finish. Based upon this bottle, still has a bit of time left, but I would drink soon.

Ron's note nails it in that the wine's structure is starting to fade a bit. I think this has begun its decline and those with bottles should drink them soon. Lots of dark fruit and a nice subtle leather note underneath, but the fruit is starting to take on a slightly flabby and prune-like edge, and this is most noticeable on the nose. It's enjoyable still, but I think the weaker vintage is starting to show itself.
