Now I remember why this was at the bottom of the pile. Unlike most Anderson Valley PN, the fruit here was hard to find. Time tamed a bit of astringency but still a touch of bitterness. Not a horrible wine, still drinkable, but not worth the price. No wonder they closed up shop. Poor wine from a good vineyard is not a business plan.

Garnet and translucent (barely less purplish tinge than Demuth). A: red raspberry and currant, strong black tea and sappy woodsy aromas. F: more structured with fine but persistent tannin, very nice cherry and currant flavors, savory notes, and a persistent finish.
Slight nod to the Cerise in this single blind scenario! Wondered if I was full of it lately, so had these side by side... didn’t need to taste, as the Cerise has such a distinctive nose on it. Always enjoy being able to pick it out of a lineup as I claim it to be my favorite Pinot vineyard.

Last bottle of 4. This progressed nicely. Medium garnet, typical Pinot color. The nose was quite a bit more full than our last bottle. Palate was muted cherries, with spice and some earth. Long, interesting finish. Paired with grilled pork tenderloin, made for a nice dinner in these interesting times.

This bottle did not hold up well. Wine had a sour note.

Translucent garnet color. Light tart cherry - bright on palate with soft tannins. Reasonably long finish. Very easy-breezy wine.
p.s. smoked pork shoulder with kapusta
