Deep dark garnet purple. Ripe and oaky but balanced. 15% ABV with forward black fruit and lots of vanilla and sweet spices. Smooth texture and long finish. Nice with some moderately spicy Chili.

Deep purple-garnet with ruby rim. Medium-plus body. Syrupy legs form rivulets that cling inside glass. Aromas of plum, cherry, vanilla, mocha, slight octane. Lip-smacking entry. Lush fruit (blackberry, tart cherry, ripe plum). Oak spice. Buoyant acids. Tannins elude integration."Long Barrel Reserve" refers to the wine spending 48 months in oak (85% neutral, 15% new medium toast), whereas the non-reserve spends 36 months. A little over-the-top, but enjoyable. Second day (original cork, no refrigeration), smoother and much improved, suggests a long decant. 15% abv. Drink while you can see 2020.
