  • From magnum and surprisingly this is now open and delivers . Granted not a full TN still off memory this was joyful and enjoyable across. 93-94 and felt to have a lot and a lot of life ahead even though delicious now.

  • This wine had a difficult stance on paper being possibly too young and up against a mighty line-up of Raveneau Valmur 10, Margaux 85, Cheval Blanc 83 and Selosse Carelles. It did outperform my expectations and we did the right thing to decant the bottle an hour before. The nose here was the star as often is the case with red Burgundy and you could just have sniff this all day long. A soaring spicy cinnamon, totally reminding me of Wrigleys Big Red chewing gum, so intense, some lovely sweet baking spice too. It actually reminded me of Comte Liger Belair Reignots 07 tasted a few months back on the nose (and that is no bad thing...!). The palate didn't quite match the sensational nose but kudo for a terrific wine that funnily was OK to be opened, albeit young. Strong showing!
