Huh, I managed to open my last bottle at the right time. Earthy and dark red fruited, this is a lovely drink right now. Not the most complex Burgundy, but it’s also not a car payment in a bottle. Entirely satisfying.

This is an interesting wine to drink right now, largely because it is in a sort of in between place, where it shows its fruit for a few minutes, and then the structure comes out. It must have flipped back and forth five or six times over the two hours I spent with it. I will presume that it is headed into some period of slumber, and the episodes of red fruit were like the irritated stares from a cat that is trying to go to sleep. Revisit this in 5 years or so. Better yet, go with 7-10.

Smoky red fruit and a hint of wildness. Good structure for this very young wine, so I think several (3-5) years in the cellar is a very good idea. I like the balance and I really love the value, especially compared to what I am paying for comparable quality from California.

Showing very pretty red fruit, and a bit of earthy complexity, but the tannins are brutal right now. Wait, and hope.
