Steen is so much less elegant than Vouvray or Chenin Blanc from CA/WA. There's just always a ruggedness about it. Not to say that I dislike it, but it is different. This is a solid effort and very nice QPR, but does start to come apart at the seams as it warms up and approaches room temp. This is great for an everyday summer gulper, but if you want more elegance and refinement...go with CA, WA or French versions.

nose: faint; palette: oaky light chenin blanc fruit, okay, but not exciting

At first a litter bitter, opened up after some time, even better with brie and crackers, not bad for a cheap wine.
