I can’t say this wine is flawed if a mouth-puckering sherry profile is the goal here—and some may find it to their taste if savory is their jam—but it’s nothing like any Sauvignon Blanc I would wish to drink or serve. Sometimes Kalin hits it out of the park, but I’m four for four and done with these bottles.

Rich deep golden-orange color. Again, nutty and sherry-like. A full-bodied, savory wine; probably best in cool weather. My dining companion, who favors savory over sweet, liked it very much. It will never be a go-to for me.

Kalin's wines always seem like a science experiment: some are wonderful; all are interesting. This is like no SB I've ever had: medium-bodied, sherry-like on first sips, it eventually settles down and the sweetness of the fruit comes forward. I would find it amazingly good, on the order of the Kalin 2000 Semillon, if not for the sharp and ever-present woody note that mars the enjoyment.

This should be great, and would be if it weren't oxidized. My first of four, and I'm not optimistic about the other three. This was drinkable, but not very pleasant.

Pretty amazing wine. Lime and hazelnut on the nose. Full bodied and viscous. I could imagine this going for another ten years...
