The nose was gorgeous, a dead ringer for my last tasting note yet more savory, displaying dried strawberry and red flowers, Tuscan spice, sandalwood, cedar, hints of game meats, floral undergrowth and crushed stone minerality. However, on the palate, the '12 Rosso seems to be going in a different direction than I had expected, showing soft, lifted, feminine textures with mentholated cool-toned red berry fruits, sweet spice and inner florals, as brisk acidity lent a juicy persona and a hint of fine tannin mounted. The finish was medium in length, showing tart raspberry, minerals, spice and a hint of iodine, giving it an almost medicinal quality.
In the end, this is remarkably pretty, zesty, and a pleasure to drink--just not what I was expecting.

A really lovely wine, wonderful balance, fruity with medium body. Exceptional for a Rosso, more like a Brunnello.

Fantastic. Similar impressions to last time. Took longer for the wine to firm up, but after a few hours it's definitely showing some tannin.

very nice Sangiovese, with berry and spice notes and a hint of tobacco
