Not your typical buttery California Chardonnay. The producer uses a conservative oak program with this wine (30% new french oak) and less malolatic fermentation than you might expect. It has ripe tropical fruit notes and the precision of an old world wine. This is the type of bottle that you give to your friend who swears they hate Chardonnay.

The 2013 Broken Dreams showcases tropical fruit aromas of pineapple and lemon with nuances of honey in the background. It maintains these flavors on the palate and reveals small traces of oak that adds to the complexity but is by no means overpowering. The mouth feel is rich and creamy. Another great showing from SLO Down Wines. Drink now.

The wine looks straw colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like lemon, honeydew and pineapple. It tastes like lemon, lime, pineapple and melon. The wine finishes medium. The wine has high acidity, lightly oaked.
