Pale straw yellow in colour and quite muted on the nose although some stone fruits emerged. Considerable amount of power and palate presence showing grapefruit, under-ripe yellow melon and with lively acids. It seemed a bit flabby and lacking in focus and tension compared with the best examples of C-M I have had so far and the oak was a little bit too much in evidence for my liking. Nevertheless a decent wine and was pleased to try it from the list at a very reasonable £65.00 from Botley Hill Farmhouse.
