Nearing the end of its life, but still a fascinating bottle. Pale golden color, the acidity softened but present, the fruit going from citrus flavors to those of melon as the wine opened up in the glass, perhaps with a touch of quince, and the faintest veil of chalk/talc.

Fairly golden color and a nose that was initially a bit baked with some cheesy notes. With air, those blow off and we get to more complex classic chenin aromas. Full body, not super long, but nice lemon and woolly notes. This needs air. I also think it is drinking a bit more mature than the 1994.

Caramelized fruit nose (baked agave or apple???) Bright entry to the palate. Tart fruit gives way to secondary flavors and a touch of old apple cider on the way to vinegar through the mid-palate and finish. Feel has a little wooliness and roundness. Very good.

Nice citrus- grapefruit, slight lemon, wooly, good acidity. Nice honey. Floral. Lingering finish. Really enjoyable.

More reticent than previous bottles, this one held up remarkably well and improved over a number of days.
