I love this Alexander Valley mountain wine. A consistently fantastic wine that is a relative bargain compared to many of similar quality just a short drive down the Napa side. This vintage is a bit lighter ruby in color than others but it has gorgeous aromas of red fruit, holiday baking spice, coffee, green tobacco and some vanilla. This is in a bit of a stranger stage compared to my last bottle a few years ago but should continue to age gracefully.

Brought to Ruth's Chris for dinner with friends. Seemed like it could have used a longer decant than the 30 mins or so it got via slow ox at the restaurant once we popped the cork. On the nose blueberry, black berry and bell pepper. Taste was similar but bell pepper was replaced by black pepper, some vanilla and relatively smooth tannins. Smelled more disjointed than in tasted. I don't have another bottle but if I did I'd wait at least one more year and give it 3 hours of proper decanting.

Just OK. Expected more after reviews here and 95 Parker rating. Not terribly complex or long right now. Didn’t detect much stuffing to see this one into the next decade so....drink up?

Drank on a Sunday afternoon with cheese with a couple of friends. We wanted to stay out of bars and restaurants.
