Big wine! 4 hour decant. Dark, dark color. Striking nose of dark fruit with some more subtler and pleasing developing secondary notes. Firm, but balanced tannins. Long finish. This is a big wine with a long life ahead, balanced and pleasing.

It's been about 3.5 years since my last bottle of this. Well, when Pott strikes the perfect chord, he nails the notes right on cue without a doubt. This was a beautiful bottle of wine, needing just an hour of decanted air to really hit its stride. Purple core fruit with a bit of acidic tension that kept the speed and frame in electric effect without seeming too spun-up. This was dialed-in from front to back, with some smoke, rock, and asphalt notes adding interest. Entering into a solid drinking window now, though this could seemingly go the distance for another 10+ years.
Sometimes I have to hold my breath a little bit when I pop a Pott, as some inconsistencies have reared their heads more often than I've been comfortable with; however, this one was a winner.
