Inky ruby red color. Very bright at first to the nose but with a little time revealed more subtle notes of baking spice and dried fruits. Similar in taste. Nice acidic finish but also soft and supple. Very “Fay”. Delicious!!

Dense deep purple with garnet rim. Fresh strawberry, raspberry and cocoa on the nose. Medium body with a blast of red and blue fruit on the tongue, supported by firm oaky tannins. A bit vegetal perhaps. Tart acidity ultimately overpowers the wine, lingering through the medium finish. A decent effort for a tough 2011 California season.

A rare misstep from Stag's Leap. Very vegetal and "stemmy" - just not at all well integrated and nose was unpleasant. Well made otherwise, which is why the score is not lower. But this was just not good and certainly not worth the price.

Drank this a bit young, but I loved it. Wonderful floral nose typical of Fay from SLWC. Good complexity and structure.
