Further to my Note of Sept 21, 2020: Decanted with light-normal sediment for its age. Color is fine. The fruit is more mature, and this was almost delicious--"yum", I noted. Unlikely to improve and glad to see that it has done so well at this age.

Bought a mixed 12b case of Field Recordings from a local independent shop about five years ago after being introduced and impressed in a funky Richmond VA restaurant. I think this was about 17/b; this is #1 of 2b of this. Decanted with light sediment. Dark ruby; full nose of red fruits, some baking spice; rich red fruit, some spiced apple, good mouthfeel; some persistence. Delicious; glad I have one more. Stored vertically (screwcap) in a cool, dark basement since purchase. My evaluation: For me, scores on a "100-point scale" are misleading. I use a 4-category scale (perhaps with +/-)--not including flawed--which runs outstanding/notable/drinkable/poor. This is notable+ when considering quality, age, and price.

Pretty nose of fresh raspberry / strawberry with dried herb and stem notes. Light-to-mid weight palate with juicy, bright acids and polished fruit. On the simpler side but so pure, bright and transparent. Very easy to like this wine.

Garnet color. Raspberry jam, cola, and pickling spice in the aromas. Cherry, raspberry, and mineral flavors mingle to an firm acid of finish. Definitely a food forward wine. Med body and finish.

Full aromatic nose of raspberry and blackberry jam and exotic spice. Medium bodied with fresh bright red fruit, a hint of earth tones and modest spice. Semi-sweet fruit is mid weight with good countering juicy acidity. Opens nicely but thins out on the mid-palate. A solid drinker.
