Nose or roses and dry cherries with some rubber notes. Earthy plum with baking spices and dried thyme. Leather, earth, red fruit and floral notes on the finish. An enjoyable wine at the end of its life.

(Ojai Vineyard Roll Ranch Vertical Tasting) Showing its two decades of age. Slightly maderized and closer to Port than Syrah at this stage of its development. Rhone funk, chocolate milkshake and cocoa shavings. Slight browning. Would be a good dessert or cigar wine, but too overbearing for food. Drink immediately. Pass.

Purple color with a very striking bouquet and flavor of candied plums, possibly left by the sugar plum fairy as we enter the holiday season. Very smooth with a lovely feel in the mouth. Generally good balance and finesse, with some pepper and a bit of alcohol peaking out at the end.

Graham cracker, dark fruit, & smoke on the nose. The palate was rich, but had pretty nice balance. Meaty, smokey, & peppery. Nice balance.
