The wine was pleasant and tannins were resolved. The fruit was mature and just beginning to dry out. I would not wait on this one as it is has ample cherry like fruit with muted spice over tones. We enjoyed the wine for its straight forward character.

Drank w/out food. Definitely low tannin/low acid. Full-bodied pinot. Not nearly as much of a nose I expected (for a Sonoma Coast Pinot). Rating as 86 (very good), because I don't consider Sonoma Coast wines as easy to package (I find that they often have extreme expressions). This one was all over the map upon opening. Total cacophony between herbs, wood, tea/root & a metallic tinge. After 30 minutes, it starts to come together though. Odd as it might sound, after getting just a little bit of air, those pieces do come together & a strong buffering of fruit takes over, putting those other pieces in the backseat. With time, this is almost like a Sonoma Coast Pinot primer. For crystalline purity look elsewhere, but this might be a good gateway to the region & an introduction to the diversity that Pinot can exhibit.

Definitely not dead yet. Still kicking some fruit in your face. Good value on auction sites.

Rodgers Creek Pinot Noir. Very fruity; rich style; low acidity
