  Decanted 1 hr ahead and sampled over the next hour. Pale ruby with definite orange tinge. Nice nose of cherries and spices, about evenly mixed, with earthy tones behind. Light to medium body on the palate, as strawberry flavors join. If Grenache is like Pinot Noir, then this bottle embodies that with its red-fruit flavors and pleasant spicy aromas. The texture is firm but not tart, which is to say that it's in a good place for present drinking and even for a few more years in the bottle. Grenache in CA still flies under the radar, especially Grenache from Amador. This wine shows one way forward.
