  • Hazy, slightly orange golden brown color with faint green highlights and a big yet short-lived white head. Rich, spicy, expressive and intensively fruity nose with aromas of orange marmalade, tangerine peel, spicy and fruity yeast esters, some metal and a hint of tropical fruit cocktail. Very full-bodied, rich and viscous palate with small and smooth carbonation. Succulent flavors of sweet tangerine, allspice, some honeyad and lightly grainy malt with a hint of wheaty tartness. A slight hint of alcohol warmth and taste. The finish is drier and grippier than the midpalate with flavors of overripe apple, dried harbs, some grass, a hint of starfruit and a touch of tropical fruits. A bit of alcohol warmth and almost nonexistent hop bitterness.

A very good, tasty and both easily approachable yet nicely complex "Amsterdamse" tripel with more fruit than kick and spices. Despite its richness and alcohol, the beer has lovely balance. Both a good sipper for an enthusiast and a nice entry-level tripel for a newbie. I love it and at 2,29€ for a 33cl bottle this beer is an overachiever in its price point; recommended!
